Luxurious Bathtubs

Bathing has a long history, which led to these luxurious bathroom ideas.

Luxurious Bathtubs

First plumbing systems for bathing were found around 3300 BC. There were copper water pipes beneath a palace discovered in the Indus Valley Civilization of ancient India.
Small bathtubs, wash basins, and foot baths for personal cleanliness were utilized in Ancient Greece as well. The earliest findings of baths date from the mid-2nd millennium BC in the palace complex at Knossos, Crete, and the luxurious alabaster bathtubs excavated in Akrotiri, Santorini.

The clawfoot tub that became popular in the 19th century, had its origins in the mid 18th century, where the ball and claw design originated in Holland, possibly artistically inspired by the Chinese motif of a dragon holding a precious stone. The design spread to England where it found much popularity among the aristocracy, just as bathing was becoming increasingly fashionable.

Now it became a normal and necessary part of our life though shower cabins are used more. But what can be better to relax than taking a hot bath with essential oils, sea salt and gentle foam? Perhaps, only doing it in a luxurious bathtub.
