SME Spotlight | Thar Artefacts

This Spotlight, we will be featuring Thar Artefacts, a company based in India. 

Thar Artefacts is run by Murtaza Khilonawala and was started in May of 2018. He says he likes to live a normal and simple life with his family, but then decided he wanted to make a difference with his company.

 “The journey started all of a sudden when I was thinking to start a business locally and then thought to start an export branch,” Khilonawala said.

Khilonawala’s products include leather bags, journals and other leather accessories. He is proud of the fact that his company gives equal rights to the people working with him, including an equal pay scale. He is currently expanding his business, creating replicas of antique daggers and swords with Koftgari work.

“My vision is to teach people to be creative, artistic, and give employment so that they can earn a living and make Indian handicrafts popular in the world,” Khilonawala said.

Khilonawala is excited for the future of Thar Artefacts on Export Portal. Not only because of the vast market he now has the opportunity to reach on our platform, but because of the expansion opportunities it provides.

“Thar Artefacts is a company which deals on micro-level but is expanding its production at a fast pace,” Khilonawala said.
