Cameroon Blockchain Business Council
The task of educating about the transformational power of blockchain will fall to the Cameroon Blockchain Business Council to raise awareness in sub-Saharan Africa.
Bitcoin has had its day, and that’s for the better because Cameroonians who thought it would make them instantly rich might start to learn about the underlying blockchain technology behind one of their most recent fads.
The task of educating them about the transformational power of blockchain will fall to the Cameroon Blockchain Business Council, an organization trying to raise awareness in sub-Saharan Africa. The goal is to help the marketplace adopt blockchain to solve everyday challenges, create jobs, and advance the regional economy.
To achieve this, the Cameroon Blockchain Business Council is organizing on-site and remote training for developers, engaging the private and public sector, and hosting events that highlight its potential. Last August, a boot camp was organized in Yaoundé for kids to learn about blockchain and its applications. On October 10, the CBBC launched the first-ever African Blockchain Day, which will celebrate trends in technology and share insights into the opportunities it offers in Africa. A reflection of its theme, the online event engaged finance, payments, energy, retail, real estate, legal, investment, venture capital, insurance, health, regulation, compliance, government, diplomacy, and telecommunications in its mission to digitize everything. Partnerships with the African Blockchain Alliance, the Blockchain Industry Association of Nigeria and the Armenian Blockchain Association show the CBBC’s ambition to build relationships and facilitate exchange on the regional and international stage.
